Caló de Sant Antoni
Caló de Sant Antoni beach is located in the resort town of S’Arenal, just southeast of Palma de Mallorca. Among the locals, the beach is often simply referred to as Es Caló.
The beach in general
Caló de Sant Antoni is a fine sandy beach, located a little hidden and forgotten behind the marina in S’Arenal. On the other side of the harbour is the very popular beach Playa de Palma.
The almost triangular Caló de Sant Antoni is 100 meters long and 60 meters wide at the widest point. The beach is covered with fine-grained, bright sand, but sometimes unfortunately a lot of seaweed is being washed on the beach.
Besides a small beach bar there are no facilities by the beach, nor rental of sunbeds and umbrellas. On the other hand, it is usually quiet and peaceful, unlike the lively Playa de Palma, which is just 300 meters away. Here you will find the family-friendly and very popular 4-star-hotel Iberostar Cristina, close to the lovely sandy beach.
Child friendliness
There is usually plenty of space to play on the beach. The water is very shallow but be aware of the areas with rocks on the seabed.
Water sports
The surf school Es Calo Surf School es located on the beach. In addition to providing lessons, they also rent out equipment for windsurfing, kitesurfing, stand up paddle and kayaks.
Beachfront restaurants
In connection with the surf school is the Es Caló Lounge beach bar. Here you can enjoy drinks and ice cream in the shade – with a perfect view over the beach and water.
The resort town of S’Arenal
S’Arenal is one of the oldest resorts in Mallorca and has always been very popular among German tourists. Many restaurants, cafés and bars are German-speaking – this also applies to Bierkönig, which can have up to 6,000 guests at the same time!
In recent years, there has been some renovation and modernisation in S’Arenal, and it is no longer only German-speaking guests who holiday here.

The beach is seen just below the marina in S’Arenal. On the other side of the harbour is the much larger playa S’Arenal beach with its many beautiful palm trees.
