Palma de Mallorca beaches
For those looking to combine a city break with relaxing beach life, Palma de Mallorca and its surrounding beaches are the place for you.
There are many options, but the beach closest to the city centre is Ca’n Pere Antoni (pictured below). It’s almost a kilometre long, but relatively narrow, with a restaurant at each end of the beach. From Ca’n Pere Antoni there is a great view of the impressive Le Seu cathedral.

Still close to the centre is Ciutat Jardi, a favourite among locals. Families and friends gather here, often bringing a picnic basket for the day. It is a lovely beach with two beach restaurants, aptly named Cafeteria del Uno and Cafeteria del Dos.
On the western outskirts of Palma de Mallorca lies the pretty and peaceful area around Cala Major beach. This is where the royal family’s Marivent Palace and the famous Joan Miró museum are located. During the summer months, Cala Major beach is much more popular than Ca’n Pere Antoni in the city centre.

On the eastern edge lies the district of Can Pastilla. Can Pastilla has its own charming little beach, but it is also here that the several kilometres long Playa de Palma begins. Behind Playa de Palma runs a nice beach promenade with 15 identical beach bars, the so-called Balnearios. The beach ends in El Arenal, which has been very popular with German-speaking tourists for many years.
As a big city, Palma de Mallorca has it all. There are good shopping opportunities, a wide range of restaurants and many cultural attractions. The Le Seu Cathedral and the adjacent historic district are both very popular with tourists. Both are located close to the beach of Ca’n Pere Antoni.
