Cala Varques
Cala Varques is located on the east coast of Mallorca, between the holiday resorts Porto Colom and Porto Cristo.
The beach in general
Cala Varques is one of the last unspoilt beaches in Mallorca where you forget about stress and mass tourism in scenic surroundings.
The 90-metre-wide beach is located deep in a beautiful bay, surrounded by pine forest and low cliffs. The white sand contrasts beautifully with the almost turquoise, crystal clear water. There are no facilities on the beach, not even toilets.
Naturists are often seen on Cala Varques, especially on the very small neighbouring beach (a little to the south).
The rental car is parked on a dirt road, which you turn onto from the Ma-4014 highway. From the end of the dirt road it is about 15 minutes walk to the beach. The path is hilly, and thus not good for strollers etc.
Child friendliness
Cala Varques is very child-friendly. Nice sand, usually plenty of space for playing and shallow water. Only the walk to the beach is not so child-friendly, especially not on the way home when the kids are tired.
Watersports
There are no water sports activities at this beach, but the conditions are very good for snorkeling. There are even a few caves in the rocks that are exciting to explore.
Beach restaurants
There are no restaurants or beach bars at Cala Varques. In July and August, it often happens that local residents sell drinks and fruit, but always remember plenty of drinks just in case.
Nearby resorts
Cala Varques is a genuine natural beach, located in pristine surroundings. There are many kilometers to the nearest holiday resorts such as Porto Cristo, Calas de Mallorca and Porto Colom. However, guests at Cala Varques come from holiday resorts all over the east coast.

The map shows the beach Cala Varques deep inside the bay. The beach is surrounded by low rock formations and forest through which the path to the beach passes. South of the beach is a smaller beach, which is unnamed. Here there are often naturists.
