Es Dolc
Es Dolc beach (or Platja d’es Dolc) is located close to the southern tip of Mallorca, Cap de Ses Salines. The distance to the lovely resort of Colonia Sant Jordi is less than 200 metres.
The beach in general
Es Dolc (or Platja d’es Dolc) is a 350 metre long natural beach divided in the middle by some very low cliffs.
The very beautiful beach has fine, light-coloured sand. At the back of the beach there are dunes, but they are closed off. The water is very clear and shallow.
It is possible to rent sun loungers and parasols on the beach. The best place to park is at Es Port town beach. From here it is about 600 metres to walk.
Child friendliness
Plenty of space to play and shallow water make this beach almost perfect for families with children. Only the walk of around 600 metres will count against it.
Water sports
It is possible to rent pedal boats at Es Dolc and small boats at nearby Es Port.
Beach restaurants
There is a quite large beach bar which also serves as a café. A larger selection of restaurants is found at Es Port.
Colonia Sant Jordi holiday resort
Colonia Sant Jordi is a medium-sized holiday resort in the south of Mallorca. Originally it was the harbour town for Campos, which is about 10 km inland.
The town is cosy and quite quiet compared to the larger holiday resorts. The area around the harbour and the town beach Es Port is a good example of this. Here you’ll find some lovely restaurants, cafés and shops.
The best hotel in town is the new 5-star Iberostar Selection Es Trenc, which opened in 2025. A fantastic hotel that spoils its guests, especially adult couples. Beautiful rooms with sea views, nice pool areas, good restaurants and a fabulous roof terrace.
Colonia Sant Jordi’s harbour still has some fishing boats, but the harbour is dominated by beautiful sailboats and yachts. A tour boat departs from the harbour every day to the protected island of Cabrera.
